How to Check if Your Watch is Magnetised

A quick test can be carried out using a simple compass:

1. Hold the watch close to the compass needle.
2. If the needle moves noticeably, the watch is likely magnetised.

How the Demagnetiser Works

Inside the unit is an electromagnetic coil which generates an alternating magnetic field. When activated, this field neutralises residual magnetism within the hairspring and other steel components, restoring normal operation.

Operating Instructions

1. Connect the Unit

Plug the demagnetiser into the mains power supply.

2. Position the Watch

Place the watch or movement flat on the blue surface of the unit.

• Complete watches can normally be treated without opening the case

3. Activate the Unit

4. Remove the Watch Slowly

While continuing to hold the button:

• Slowly lift the watch vertically upward
• Move it approximately 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) away from the unit

This gradual movement is essential because it allows the magnetic field to dissipate cleanly.

5. Release the Button

Once the watch is clear of the unit, release the button.

If necessary, repeat the process once or twice for heavily magnetised watches.
